The real purpose of Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is a method of preparing the system for spiritual awakening. It is also very important science of health. Since ancient times it has been used by yogis and rishis for the relief and elimination of all kinds of diseases and defects. Hatha yoga is so powerful that it works on the principles of harmony and unification. In the physical body, organs must function in complete coordination between them. If any organ is not in coordination with each other then there will be imbalance in the body. Thus, there is physical and mental discomfort leading to sickness.

According to hatha yoga, to regain health the physical body and it's system must be in a state of perfect alignment. If that is done then health happens naturally. Practicing Hatha Yoga helps in conserving energy in the physical body which is very important aspect of health. Too much importance has given to nutrition, but the real source of energy which is inherent is missing. Hatha Yoga balances the energy in the system and creates good health. Whenever the flow of energy channels in the human system are blocked, suppressed, dissipated or poorly distributed, disease is inevitable.

The human body and it's system do not survive merely on food and minerals. The main source of life is the energy channels. Therefore, Hatha Yoga brings the harmony between physical and mental health. So far hatha yoga has successfully reversed many lifestyle diseases and some chronic diseases. The psychic and mental diseases are nothing but a state of disharmony in the energy system.

The Asanas and Pranayama are more powerful and effective ways of controlling the whole body. It is the first step in allowing to alter the mechanisms of the body  to gain control over the total structure of the mind and body. Many scientific studies have been conducted in this field. Today we teach Hatha Yoga to people because it is very necessary. Man has become sick and medical science is not able to meet the challenge. Hatha yoga has helped people to improve mental health, physical health and emotional health. Hatha yoga also brings freedom from bondage and has transformed humans life in many ways.
